Any one(Indian Citizen and NRI) who is above 18 years completed can open Demat and Trading account. Even Minor can open only Demat account with Guardian.

Demat account can be opened in permutation and combination under one broker but Trading account is only one who is first holder in Demat account.
It means A can open Trading and Demat account. Then A can open only Demat account with B as second holder.

Or

A can open Demat account with B as Second holder and C as Third Holder. But here Trading account is only one in the name of A.
Person can open any number of accounts with many brokers.
